Rangoli programme in National museum of Singapore!

Advanced Deepavali wishes to everyone!

This year’s theme for Deepavali celebration at National Museum of Singapore is ‘Spices’ and I had a request that I use the Spices from National Museum’s William Farquhar collection of paintings. I suggested to use the spices for the decoration and incorporated the natural Geometric Shape of the spice ‘Star Anise’ into the design and this was well received as this fits into the overall theme as well.

Though I was a little sceptical about myself giving a talk about ‘Rangoli & it’s significance’ live on facebook from the museum, I pushed myself as always. I’m glad the talk went on well, thankfully my co-hosts Mehak from India and Michelle from Croatia were very interested in the art and that helped me to discuss about some of the facts about Rangoli in a very casual way throughout 1 hour. later Michelle stayed with me until the end of the programme, interacting with the kids and parents who came to try their hands on the rangoli.

I’m very happy to learn that National Museum of Singapore received positive feedback about the program and they have decided to keep the Rangoli for 1 week until deepavali, for the visitors.
