When I am waiting for my son’s school bus, saw an elderly lady coming in her car with lots of milk cans, started to water the plants in the neighborhood, surprised and happy to see this act of good deed and tried to capture her quickly in my sketch!

Plein Air Jalan Kayu

Plein air oil painting of “Church of The Epiphany” in Jalan Kayu along Tampines Expressway. Many construction works are going on nearby, quite unsure of this very old architecture.

Sketched this nostalgic back alley in Jalan Kayu with spiral staircase, plants growing on them, air vents in houses…..on the left is a tree thriving on a large stone wall. It started raining while sketching, added colors at home later.

Kampong Buangkok plein Air

Jalan Kayu Painting

Did this one today at Jalan Kayu, an old two storey house tucked in between other newly renovated houses, with interesting antique lamps, cracks on the walls and fresh colorful blossoms in balcony, I see this as a tie between past and present.

The second is a watercolor sketch of an old building with unique shaped balconies, interesting sun-shade windows, some plants growing on the cracks and this building stands in the heart of Jalan Kayu with busy shops nearby.

Sketchwalk with Urban Sketchers Singapore

In Punggol Waterway, started with the intention of making loose, blending painterly washes but ended up with (two) too tight studies…….. very happy to attend the sketchwalk this time nearby my place (Sengkang)….met many sketchers and enjoyed their lovely sketches!!

Saw this man near the waterway today morning, he is exercising with a heavy weight wooden ring, first started to swing around his waist and then towards upper body. The ring was very long, he would have done this around 100+ times before going near the water to yell a loud “o” and the sound was so big and vibrating.

I saw a man sitting alone under the Sengkang west bridge(the one near Anchorvale CC) on sunday and enjoying the evening Sun along the waterway, he was there for a long time, I suppose his mind got relaxed to the rhythmic movements of water as he continues to gaze…….

Floating Wetland in Sengkang West, stretches across the waterway along its width, easy access to view waterbirds and enjoy nature
