This view of Bukit Timah Railway Station is from a rugged sand path behind the station. Situated in a serene atmosphere, the Bukit Timah Railway Station is an endearing local landmark and a key building of Singapore’s railway history. The Bukit Timah Railway Station was opened as a part of the Singapore-Kranji Railway. Owned by the Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad (KTMB), these railway tracks and train stations were properties of the Malaysian Government until June 30, 2011. Going there after the train service ceased, everyone including me had a nostalgic feel about the place. This must be the reason why I wanted to paint this place. Its conservation serves as a physical reminder of Singapore’s role as a transport hub in the region.

SOLD

This is a painting of Bukit Timah Railway Station, that recently became an important heritage trail of Singapore.
Going there after the train service ceased, everyone including me had a nostalgic feel and people were discussing about changing tracks, signalling, exchange of keys they haven’t experienced before. This must be the reason why I wanted to paint this place. Its conservation serves as a physical reminder of Singapore’s role as a transport hub in the region.
